Our Future is Kind’s Mission
The Our Future is Kind mission statement speaks to two important aspects of our business.
Our Client-Focused Mission
We provide practical kindness-focused tools and strategies so that you can confidently live your values and create career success even in difficult situations. By providing you with these tools and insights, you can create a kinder work culture and approach to your personal life. The intent is to enable you to find deeper satisfaction, more alignment with your true purpose, and more energy to contribute to society.
Our Community-Focused Mission
Since a mindful approach is needed to build the future we want to live in, our mission is to provide individuals with the tools, strategies, and opportunities to build that future. We believe that the ideal future is one where:
1) All people are acknowledged as being worthy of kindness and treated in alignment with that truth; and,
2) Kindness, curiosity, creativity, and an adventurous spirit are the hallmarks of our most honored citizens and best-supported endeavors. To that end, we focus on charitable giving and volunteerism related to lifting those who feel neglected and forgotten and on endeavors that help humanity learn, produce meaningful art, and expand our frontiers.
By investing in both components of our mission, we believe we are helping individuals and society to create an appealing world in which the work of leaving the world better than we found it starts with kind treatment of those around us.
A man is known by the books he reads.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
And perhaps by the books he writes, yes?
“Michael's book offers a refreshing perspective on personal growth and kindness, starting with a captivating first chapter that encourages readers to examine their belief systems. Chapter 2 was my favorite, challenging limiting beliefs and helping to see how society attempts to put limits on us. The exercises provided practical strategies to identify triggers, create effective responses, and overcome external limits. Chapter 6 delivers a solid reality check and valuable guidance on handling difficult feedback. Throughout the book, I appreciated the thoughtful scenarios and suggestions, making it a powerful tool for personal and professional development. I wish I had had this 40 years ago when I entered the workforce.” — JMS
“Michael's book is a remarkable journey into self-discovery and kindness. It skillfully engages readers with insightful exercises that encourage practical application of its teachings. His personal stories throughout the book make the content genuine and relatable. In particular, his perspective on the vastness of the universe in Chapter 1 offers a profound reminder of how we should prioritize our interactions, both personally and professionally. Furthermore, his innovative approach to workplace culture assessment in Chapter 6 provides a valuable tool for self-reflection and improvement. As someone who has worked at Nordstrom for over 20 years and now Gilead, I've found Michael's book to be a priceless guide to enhancing everyday life.” — Joe S.
“I had the privilege of reading an advance copy of 'In Kind,' and it was an incredible experience. Michael's approach to kindness sets this book apart from others in this genre. What truly impressed me was his continuous offering of support to readers, providing us with a direct connection to seek help, ideas, and input on our journey toward a kinder world. This level of engagement with an author is quite rare, and it speaks volumes about Michael's true intent – making the world a kinder, better place for everyone. I couldn't be more hopeful for the generations to come. Thank you, Michael, for this opportunity and for writing such an impactful book!” — Gail K.
